We have once again created a selection of exciting collections of houseplants which we hope you will like to try.

Periodically we have limited numbers of unusual and rare varieties for sale.

PBR or PBR APPLIED FOR: These plants are covered by European Plant Breeding Rights and CANNOT be propagated without a licence.

We have extensively increased the range of Saintpaulias. The range includes bi-coloured, variegated, trailing, doubles & miniatures. None of these varieties are readily available from any other source in this country.

They are frequently called the Hot Water Plant, although warm water is not necessary to get the rhizomes to sprout. They come originally from Central and South America. Rhizomes are normally available from Feb-April and then plug plants from May onwards.

All the Gesneriads we grow are easy to look after and require similar conditions to Streptocarpus. Most are sent as young plants, some as rhizomes (marked as rhizomes in the description). Plant the rhizomes about 2cm (1 inch) below the surface of the compost, keep the compost moist and warm. The rhizomes produce shoots very quickly (2-4 weeks).

Impatiens niamniamensis (also known as the Parrot Plant) and other varieties of Impatiens.

The named varieties make excellent plants and are far better than seedling varieties, they are not so prone to go to flower and have better foliage colours.
